They provide resistance to alkali and metal corrosion, ideal for sodium lamps, and function as substrates for integrated circuits and high-frequency insulating materials in electronics.
Ordinary Alumina Ceramics: These include 99, 95, 90, and 85 porcelains, categorized by Al2O3 content. Variants with 80% or 75% are also part of this series. 99% alumina is used for high-temperature crucibles, refractory furnace tubes, and special wear-resistant items like ceramic bearings, seals, and water valve components. The 95% alumina is primarily for corrosion and wear-resistant parts. Enhanced with talc, these ceramics boast improved electrical and mechanical properties, enabling metal sealing with molybdenum, niobium, and tantalum, and are used in electric vacuum devices.
