Alumina Ceramic:

Alumina ceramics, composed predominantly of alumina (Al2O3), are integral to thick film integrated circuits due to their excellent conductivity, mechanical strength, and high temperature resilience. These versatile ceramics require ultrasonic cleaning and are widely implemented in modern applications, meeting both everyday and specialized demands.

Alumina ceramics are categorized into two primary types: High Purity and Standard.
High-Purity Alumina Ceramics boast an Al2O3 content of 99.9% or higher. With sintering temperatures ranging from 1650 to 1990°C and a transmission wavelength between 1 to 6 μm, they are often used in place of platinum crucibles for molten glass. They are employed as sodium lamp enclosures resistant to acid and alkali corrosion. In the electronics industry, they serve as substrates for integrated circuits and materials for high-frequency insulation.
Standard Alumina Ceramics include 99 porcelain, 95 porcelain, 90 porcelain, and 85 porcelain, based on Al2O3 content. Those with 80% or 75% content are also part of this category. Notably, 99 alumina ceramics are used for high-temperature crucibles, refractory furnace tubes, and specialty wear-resistant applications like ceramic bearings and seals. 95 alumina ceramics are primarily for corrosion and wear resistance. With added talc, their electrical and mechanical properties improve, allowing them to be sealed with metals like molybdenum, niobium, and tantalum, and used in electric vacuum devices.
