Alumina Ceramic:
Alumina ceramics, based on alumina (Al2O3), are essential in thick film circuits. Renowned for excellent conductivity, mechanical strength, and thermal resistance, they require ultrasonic cleaning. Their versatility underlies their widespread use in modern life, meeting both everyday and specialized demands.
Alumina ceramics come in two varieties: High Purity and Standard.
High-Purity Alumina Ceramics boast over 99.9% Al2O3. Their high sintering temperatures (1650-1990°C) and transmission wavelengths (1-6 μm) allow molten glass to replace platinum crucibles. They also serve as corrosion-resistant sodium lamp components and are crucial as substrates and insulators in the electronics industry.
Ordinary alumina ceramics include 99, 95, 90, and 85 porcelain types, based on Al2O3 content. Sometimes featuring 80% or 75%, these materials make high-temperature crucibles, refractory tubes, and wear-resistant products like ceramic bearings and seals. 95 alumina ceramics excel in corrosion and wear resistance. Enhanced by talc for electrical and mechanical properties, they are compatible with metals like molybdenum, niobium, and tantalum, and are used in electric vacuum devices.
