Alumina Ceramic:

Alumina ceramics, comprising a base of alumina (Al2O3), are integral to thick film integrated circuits, celebrated for their excellent conductivity, mechanical strength, and high temperature resilience. Notably, ultrasonic cleaning is essential. Thanks to their outstanding qualities, alumina ceramics are versatile materials, meeting a wide array of modern societal needs, both in everyday applications and specialized functions.

Alumina ceramics are available in two categories: High Purity Type and Normal Type.
High-purity alumina ceramics contain at least 99.9% Al2O3. Employed at sintering temperatures between 1650-1990°C and with transmission wavelengths of 1 to 6 μm, these ceramics often replace platinum crucibles for glass melting. Their resistance to acid and alkali metal corrosion makes them suitable for sodium lamps. In the electronics industry, they function as substrates for integrated circuits and as materials for high-frequency insulation.
Ordinary alumina ceramics are categorized by Al2O3 content into 99, 95, 90, 85 porcelain, etc. Even ceramics with 80% or 75% Al2O3 are included in this series. Among them, 99 alumina ceramics are crafted into high-temperature crucibles, refractory furnace tubes, and specialized wear-resistant items like ceramic bearings and seals. The 95 alumina variant is primarily used for corrosion and wear-resistant parts. Due to added talc, these ceramics exhibit enhanced electrical/mechanical properties and can be sealed with metals like molybdenum, niobium, and tantalum, finding use in electric vacuum devices.
